This summer I plan to have a month of "solitude." By that I mean that I will not be using the internet to communicate with people. Only human interaction. Maybe I'll extend that to keeping technological use severely limited. We shall see. As I have said before, sometimes you just gotta slow everything down and take a look at what is around you. I think this will be exactly what I need to get back on track and really focus on the important things in life.
Let us read and let us dance - two amusements that will never do any harm to the world.

Does that mean you won't be able to blog about your experiences?
ReplyDeleteI suppose I could keep you guys updated. Don't think it would do any harm (:
DeleteThat's true. It is time to stand up and do something for me too.
ReplyDeleteGood luck to you! Let me know how it goes.

DeleteI too plan to take a month off of the web, but by time off, I mean that I only plan to use the internet for about 12 hours a day. Not 16 hours.

ReplyDeleteGood luck, it's going to be hard to cut the net out these days though. Hell, Walgreens is about to roll out facebook access on their digital kiosks.
ReplyDeleteGeez really? What has the world come to? Haha. And thanks for the support.

ReplyDeleteHaha sounds awesome man. I love camping. I don't really think my survival skills are up to par to be doing that kind of thing though
DeleteThis sounds kind of hard to do, but at the same time it sounds kind of intriguing. I might try to do this myself when summer comes.
ReplyDeleteI agree. It's gonna be tough, but very relaxing hopefully.

ReplyDeleteLol true. But I think that might be ok. Exercise!
DeleteGood idea dude
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking about doing the exact same thing. In ways I think it would seriously improve my quality of living, however I am a bit anxious to get started.
ReplyDeleteYeah it will be tough the first few days but I think with some dedication it'll work out just fine. Good luck to you if you decide to go through with it.
Deletegood luck on your goal
ReplyDeleteThank you sir!
DeleteThat's a good idea.
ReplyDeleteive done this before, its quite interesting to see how addicted you can get.
ReplyDeleteThat might not be such a bad thing. Haha
DeleteInternet communication has it pros and its cons. While on the one hand the other party is somewhat detached from you, on the other one it allows for a communication in which physical, ethnical, religious and social distances are nullified and left in the outside world. Think about it, I agree there should be a somewhat adequate balance between the two types of communication but I believe cutting internet communication off entirely would only result in a loss of opportunity :)
ReplyDeleteHuh, I suppose you are right. Maybe just cutting back on time spent on the internet and such would be better. And with the spare time, go out and do things. Hiking, fishing, biking, gym, socialize. Maybe read a few books.
